Brief: To create packaging for craft beer cans and their Keg Badges.
NITRO MAN
My design for 'Nitro Man' includes the Roman God Neptune with the River Eden Bridge behind him. The Westwalls' Logo is placed to look like the top of Neptune's Trident.

GOLD FOOL
'Gold Fool', the blonde ale, in my design includes the Roman God Cupid. The pattern in the design aims to reflect the pattern on the ceiling of Carlisle Cathedral. The Westwalls' Logo is placed to look like Cupid's wings.
TOO EASY
My design for 'Too Easy' the Helles Lager aimed to depict the Roman Goddess Diana running along Hadrian's wall. The Goddess Diana is often depicted along side a small deer or dog, since Carlisle is somewhat known for its Deer, a deer would accompany my Diana. The Westwalls' Logo is placed to look like the deer's antler.

BETTER BELIVE IT
A more Traditional Direction
Previous designs felt stale and a more lively approach was needed. So I took a step back and looked more traditionally.
Gouache and Coloured Pencils
Gouache
Westwalls identified Mikkeller as a beer can that they liked. I thought of how I could combine this vector-like style with my inclination for the traditional. I thought I could do something that was Riso printing-like.

Creating the Can Design in Photoshop
During the Q&A talk with Olivier Kugler he mentioned that he drew traditionally and then coloured digitally but unlike how I'd coloured previously, he kept the digital colours flat. I replicated this in my work for this project.
